Wild Pesto is made from the beautiful wild garlic leaves. Harvested from woodland in West Cornwall all within a couple of miles from where I live.
Wild garlic is an ancestral food and packed with many health benefits. Appearing at the very end of Winter and well into Spring . I believe it is natures way of providing after the lean and sometimes hard Winter in the wheel of the year. Packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals it is thought to help lower blood pressure.
I pick, wash and chop these delicious leaves and make Wild Pesto. All the green you can see in the jars are these gorgeous leaves.
